Lyrics from UVa AVP's "In Da Pub":

My bagpipe instructor
She knows that I wants her
She could tell by the sighting
of my Loch Ness Monster

Ah, Scottish parodies of rap songs..

Slashdot: News for nerds, stuff that matters: "'It weighs about the same as a single atom of helium and exists for only about one billionth of a trillionth of a second before it decays into other longer-lived, more familiar particles.' Scientists say the lifespan 'is nearly an eternity for a sub-atomic particle this heavy' and may require a change in current theory."

Seriously, I can't even imagine the length this new sub-atomic particle lives. That's fucking ridiculous.

On another note, have a wonderful day!

everyone:

check out Helicopter Helicopter, the best damn band i've heard in months. They're signed to Initial Records (My current favorite label) and as soon as they get a break, they're going to be fucking huge.

I just crafted an elaborate metaphor, but it was far too dirty to share on Chortles and Snorts. How low have I fallen?

So, I've been to Schenectady, NY. Not much to say about it ... But Nick's show was absolutely fabulous (he stole it, of course). It was very good to see my Nick. =)
Thus began my month of college visiting. Next weekend is PennState, followed closely by a weekend in the Big Apple. Yay for getting out of Chestnut Hill!
Laramie is coming along well. We're (almost) off book, and it's really starting to come together. You all better be there. I know where you live.

dear Revolutions - thank you for redeeming the series and giving me hope again. please tell anyone who disagrees with me to fuck off. yes, we all know that your ending sucked, and no one is quite sure why it is there. we know you didn't mean to hurt us, your head just got a little big and you got a little pretentious. we love you anyway.
<3, m'ris

so. revolutions. fucking rocked. i suppose it's all relative, and what with the fact that i base my life and my actions around these movies. but anyway. if you felt about the first movie the way i did (it literally rocked your world and changed your life) you will like revolutions. if you thought it was pretty cool, but not world-rocking, you may not be as excited about it.

monday i call FACS and get started on my resume. and so everything that begins must end; so i start my beginning. it's a jump. i'm scared. i think it'll be ok.

What a great birthday. It got really good from about 8:05 to 8:40 tonight..

Imagine a graph of time versus force for the pulling of a wooden sled.

The start of the day - that is, up to 8:05 - would be like static friction on the graph. Force is being applied, but the sled's not moving yet - the day really hasn't gotten 'underway.' (Players being a notable exception.)

Then, from 8:05 to 8:40, the graph would be at its point of maximum static frictional force. The sled has started to move. The day has truly begun, things are happening. This is, not uncoincidentally, the highest point on the graph.

From 8:40 to right about now would be kinetic friction on the graph. The sled is moving. The day is moving along, quite nicely. This is a section of the graph that is on the whole higher than the static friction - its just plain better.

Yes...

haven't posted anything in a while. thought i'd say hi. life is weird, per usual. watched redneck zombies tonite instead of studying. getting sick. i should sleep more. not sure if i'll be home for thanksgiving. def. for winter break tho.

this is the most useless post ever.

Just another quick note. Because this needs to be in a completely different frame; I was scrolling down and saw Deb's post about Chem sucking. Well Deb, talk to Heather and I, because we got Fournier, Mrs. Fournier, that is. And she's just...there are no words...

Yes, it was me that cried out Nick's name in the auditorium tonight. But you all loved it. Jeff did fabulous, the best monologue of the entire night, and we got to see him run on screen! It's...it's just been a really good night.

I would give you all the details about how it was the premiere of his film, but I'm exhausted. Maybe he will tell you, and if he doesn't, I'll post it tomorrow. But it was a lot of fun. It was great.

Night all. Sweet dreams to everyone.

Oh, and we're off book as of today. Yeah, that didn't happen. Not so much, at all. Well, it happened a little. Okay, so it happened a lot...geez...big deal. It's going to be great.
